CASCADE - 2001

It is my real pleasure to announce to the stereo community at large that
Cascade Stereo Club in Portland, Oregon USA has now forms available for its
next PSA approved exhibitions as follows:

Deadline for submitting entries for "CASCADE - 2001" is June 9, 2001. This
is the third annual competition and exhibition of stereo photography, the
second year that Cascade is offering an electronic section and the first
year that Cascade is offering in addition to the PSA exhibition also an
independent stereo exhibition.

The independent stereo exhibition is a totally new concept in which
entrants may enter and exhibit their work on Cascade's website. This
independent exhibition called "StereoIMAGEnation" allows any entrant to
submit ANY type of stereo image regardless of how this image was created.
In other words, whereas in the PSA approved exhibition, there is a
restriction stipulating that a stereo image must have its origins in
photography, our newest exhibition StereoIMAGEnation allows the entrant a
full freedom in creativity and recognizes the fact that many people are
interested primarily in the Stereoscopic aspect of a stereo image and
secondarily in the method of creation of such an image. Therefore, while
StereoIMAGEnation will certainly accept stereo photographic works, it
encourages potential exhibitors to create work by any other means that can
generate a stereoscopic effect: Computer generated images, Hand drawn
artwork or cartoons, Direct scans of objects, or any and all other methods. 

We hope that StereoIMAGEnation will fill the gap felt by many workers of
not having a forum that is totally free from restrictions in the creation
of their stereoscopic art.
