I am sorry to disagree with Hans, but as discussed
many times before, sniping results in lower not
higher prices. If you think prices are higher because
of sniping, rest assured that they will be even
higher if sniping was not possible, as for example
in the scheme of "five-minute-rule" that Hans mentions.

Hans, it is not the snipers that prevent you from
bidding on ebay but your inability to bid higher
and outbid the other interested parties.

Why would he do that??? Then most likely he would
have been the highest bidder and then he would have
to pay ebay commission, etc.
