Gary,

That's a good thing!  :=)

I used to bracket like crazy with my Pen FT's. If it was something
I really, really wanted and it was holding still, I would sometimes
go 7 stops. And with 72 exposures on a roll, I could afford to
without breathing hard. But that was with Kodachrome 64. Kodachrome
200 has considerably more contrast. Most of the time I like it, and
a less contrasty film like Elite Chrome 200 strikes me as being
kind of blah. It's a personal preference. And the more contrast
a film has, the less range you have for proper exposures. I did
indeed used to think awhile about which one of my bracketed shots
I wanted to use with Kodachrome 64. Not too often with 200.

That's very true, especially with my Biax-illuminated beamsplitter
viewer. I do shoot for the brilliant illumination. If I were to
start projecting, a lot of my shots would be useless.

I really think 5p would be ideal, given the light falloff in the
corners with the XA lens/shutter combination. The high contrast
of Kodachrome 200 aggravates the light falloff as well. If I should
happen to come across a nice 41X101 slide viewer with interocular
adjustment, focusing, really sharp lenses, and longer focal length
lenses, that wasn't too expensive..... I used to mount a lot of
flat slides in square mounts. All other things being equal, that
is my preference. I'm always exploring, and I didn't buy the
FED Stereo to use for a paperweight! :-) I'm also in the middle
of doing my first roll of Provia 400F in a Yashica Samurai X3.
FWIW, I also caved in and got a very nice Kodak Instamatic 500
on eBay for $9.95. I got it mostly to collect it, as 126 film
is nearly impossible to find now. But it's a beautiful camera;
my former Instamatic 500 was my mainstay for night shots when I was doing
126 Kodachrome 64, as I did for many years. The 38mm
Schneider Xenar is dreadfully sharp and nicely free of flare.
And of course the Compur leaf shutter is quiet as a mouse. The
coupled selenium meter in this one still works!

Amen!
