Thanks Lincoln for an actual report on Ni-MH performance in a viewer. Now I
can confindently go out and buy a pair of D cells and a charger. I've seen
the batteries for as little as $9 a pair, and a charger that will take Ds for
$15. Like you, I've been using AA Ni-MH batteries in my flashes for some
months now with great satisfaction. I use Sunpack 383 Supers heavily in
professional application and I believe the Ni-MH outperform the nicads in
number of flashes. Nicads are still quite satisfactory however, when fully
discharged before charging. I only use chargers that will perform that
function. It's not necessary with the Ni-MH cells. Radio Shack sells a line
of these "conditioning" chargers. They're inexpensive.
