Someone might be able to help you there...

I have heard of a device like that, called iconoscope.
This information comes from a book over 100 years old.
I believe that some of the mirror stereo viewers that
we use can be adjusted to see things flat.

As stereo fans, our goal is the opposite, to see 3d
even where depth does not exist!
