It would be nice to have a central location for information about 3d.
There are lots of very nice efforts (DrT's personal pages, the Kiewa
Valley site, and the commercial vendors), but no central place to get
information. This was a frustrating aspect as a beginner (as I was last
year).

Personally I've thought about putting up my own pages, but I've been
held back by the thought of contributing yet another voice to the din.

And frankly, it's would be a fair amount of work to generate a
coordinated web offering of 3d information. It's hard to generate work
out of volunteers who would rather be taking pictures than slinging
code, verifying links or advertising.

I do think such an effort would pay off for the community as a whole,
however.
