Yes it would. In fact, they are already digital. But, then you would
have to convert them back and interlock them some way to display them on a
conventional home television, or to record them onto a VCR. The tapes in
the camcorders are ready to play back on NTSC television as they are, and
can be displayed as such, even in the field while doing the original
recording. Genlocking allows them to be displayed either immediately or
later on a conventional NTSC television receiver, without first having to go
through a computer, or suffer compression and other losses.
