Another variation of the process described by Mr. Goodman can be
accomplished if you have access to Adobe PageMaker (or a similar page layout
program). You create the two full frame PhotoShop scans as you would for any
stereo pair. You then place/import them both into a PageMaker document, at
any size you find convenient and comfortable to work with. (i.e. you can
view the pair in 3D at your monitor's screen resolution)
Use the cropping tool to adjust how much of each image you want to see.
Naturally you need to crop both images the same amount. Then you simply
"click and hold" in the middle of the frame, and you can shift the image up
and down or left and right within the cropped window(s). You can also adjust
the spacing between the two frames. I've used this technique for creating
personalized stereo greeting cards, especially when I only want to use a
very small portion of the original image, but still want control of the
stereo effect and depth.
