It appears realistic to me that the viewing lenses should be separated to
the space equal to the space nominally measured as the distance between the
pupills of the viewers eyes so tha the viewer can look through the center of
each eye piece when viewing stereo slides. Does one look through the edges
of the eye piece when looking through a telescope , binoculars or a
microscope ( these usually have compound lenses not simple achromats for eye
pieces ). All of my ( 4 ) viewers have- an interocular adjustment
capability, a geared focussing system, and a hood to keep out exteranious
light when viewing plus an even light system which is probably why I
consider MF so much better than 35 mm stereo in which most viewers have
unm-even lighting to put it mildly. I assume that Abram K will agree that
my viewers have the main essentials of a decent viewer DON.
