[photo-3d] NSA regional

Hi y'all! I drove 5+ hours to Fort Worth to the NSA regional meeting, and
it was worth it. Any of you who lives closer than that, and did not attend,
missed a fun event. Although I was expecting a larger gathering, the folks
that were there were warm, friendly, and informative--just like most
P3D'ers. For me, it was expecially great to see some MF slides and viewers
for the first time, and I also picked up some tips on my stereo cameras that
I wasn't aware of. I got to see Alan Lewis' Sputnik with the Yashica
lenses; we all need to work on him to start producing that conversion en
masse for us all. :) The slide show was fun too, and they even projected
the half-dozen slides that I brought (to oohs and aahs, no less--they were
most charitable folks!).

Considering how many more people attend the national conference, this has
definitely whetted my appetite for Buffalo! (Although I'll probably lodge
in the Super 8, not the Adam's Mark, to pinch pennies.) I'm already coaxing
my wife, wouldn't she like to visit Niagara Falls this summer? (She has no
interest in photography, let alone stereo, unfortunately!)

My thanks to the friendly folks in Texas! It was fun!

BTW, when I got home and sat down to read the Tulsa paper, what do I find
but a reprint (albeit lousy quality) of a stereocard on one of its pages!
It was a pic of the St. Louis, along with a story of the Jewish refugees who
were turned back from Cuba and the U.S. The caption labeled it as a photo
made for a "three-dimensional viewer." The editor couldn't say "stereo" and
confuse people, I suppose. :)

Best regards,

Mike Galazin
