The most common mistake that I have seen in beginner's images has been that
of light flare. Remember that this is a true beamsplitter design, and it is
very easy to get flare in one side, which can be very distracting. The best
procedure is to keep your eye(s) on the viewfinder or viewscreen of your
camcorder, and choose a different camera angle if you see flare. Make sure
that you can clearly see the images from both eye views. This will also
help you to avoid other potential problems and make certain that you change
convergence as necessary when the view changes. Be conscious of the
background as well as the subject, so as to not inadvertently "dial in"
parallaxes that are too large.
