I notice that the larger the maximum screen size, the greater the gain
(reflectivity?), the greater the price/foot. 70"x70"/1.8/$6.50
(fabric alone) for Da-lite, 9x12/2.3/$20 (finished screen?) for VREX,
and 40x90/3.2/$25 (fabric alone). Is the greater gain necessary to
make it "easier" for a polarized lite to be bright from a greater
distance on the plus side, but on the down side make the screen more
prone to hot spots (shiny glaring reflections) when closer to the
screen? Would I be better off with a lower gain for a smaller screen
where we sit closer to the screen?
I'll test my sample of Silver 3D material I got from Stewart
Filmscreens.
I'm really wishing I could seem the Super Wonder-lite screen material
to make a 7x9 screen for my club. I think my home would be happy
with a 55"x70" screen which is available.
What sizes would you like to have for home and club?
