Hi All,

That's the lenticular prints, right? I'm in the same boat there.
I tried 3-DX in Duluth (if I recall) and was *very* unimpressed. All the
prints came back with white lines down them. It was almost as if my three
view shots were printed as for a Nimslo four view set, leaving one view
blank. I'm not saying that was really the cause, but you get the
impression. I sent them back of course, but the second set were no better.
If they hadn't cropped the shots slightly differently I'd have sworn
they'd done nothing. :-( I gave them one more chance with no better
results, so they don't get my business anymore.
What I do now is I get the films printed 'flat' at a dealer who understands
the phrase 'half frame,' and mount pairs in a self-adhesive albumn. I can
then get a better quality 3D view with a cheap lorgnette, and the middle
shot can be given away to anyone who'd like it. Cool.
Curiously enough, the prints come out properly windowed nine times out of
ten despite the fact that the negs certainly aren't. I think it's the way
the negs aren't spaced absolutely evenly on the film strip.
The one worrying thing about this is that the minilab is highly likely to
cut the film in a way that seperates sets of three frames. That will cause
problems if I ever go for lenticular reprints.
Long term I'm working on scripting my fave image editing program to
interlace the three views for printing. I'm about 3/4 of the way there I
think. Then I just need to stump up the dosh for some *frighteningly*
spendy lenticular plastic to put in front.
I'm looking forward to seeing some A4 (similar size to US letter paper)
lenticular prints from my recent glamour shoot though. Yum! ;-)
