If I understand, you were using the term"crappy" with regards to the
mechanical design of these projectors and the nature of projecting light
through slides, and not in reference to the quality of the actual projected
images. I guess I can't argue with that. My interest is mostly in the
beauty and clarity of the image I'm seeing, which is why I'm not yet
enthusiastic about digital image projection. When I read that Disney thinks
2000 pixels is enough for their presentations I'm less optimistic about the
near future of this technology.

This is true, as long as you consider limited resolution digital images to
be "perfect". One thing to consider in choosing today's digital technology
over slide film for all of your shooting is that in ten years or so when 20
giga-pixel virtual reality head visors might be for sale at K-Mart I'll be
able to scan the extra detail from my slides into that format, as opposed to
being stuck with a mere 2400 X 1800 pixels from some turn of the century
digital (pardon the expression) dinosaur.
