I was a 2D convert. I was a news staff photographer in High School and
College and continued photography as a hobby after that.
No one converted me though. I just saw a View-Master for the first time
since I was a kid and shortly after found out that you could do that
yourself. I was hooked.
Now I just use a point and shoot for 2D travel pics and use a Vivid and
View-Master camera for the serious shots :)
I also took 3D (view-master format) slides at my sisters wedding. From
what I hear they are always the ones that are the big hit when they show
them.
It all depends on the person though. I have show great pictures many
times to people who just don't get it and ask if they can get print
copies.
One major challenge is that 2D photographers who understand light meters
aperture settings and shutter speeds tend to not take 3D seriously,
while people who don't have that knowledge find it very difficult to use
the 50's cameras.
