[photo-3d] dr5 Black and White

I just received two rolls of B&W film I shot
for processing in the .dr5 process. The film
was processed and returned in 5 days!

The tonal range of the images is impressive
(much better, IMO, than Scala) and the toning
is beautiful. I had a few problems though.

For one thing, the "grain" becomes absolutely
huge in this process. Delta 100 looks worse than
a black and white version of Kodachrome 200!

The Delta 400 was marked as having been pushed
to 800, but all the images were 1-3 stops under-
exposed (where you could see them at all). Since
I exposed the roll outdoors using a Realist, I
cannot believe that the film was pushed. (maybe
it was pulled a stop or 2). And the grain! Looks
more like royal X pan from the 50s!

Now I'm wondering if my experience was just a
fluke, or if the large grain (which may actually be
grain clumping) is simply characteristic of this
process? Anybody else tried this process?
