[photo-3d] Schaap Systeem Groothoek Stereoscoop Camera van Albada

In a thread on Wide-angle Stereoscopy and the LEEP I have
written on the Dutch army General van Albada, who probably
has devoted more time to stereoscopy than to the army, and
I said (Feb 18, 2001):
>In the Netherlands in 1902 a camera was marketed called
>"Groothoekstereoscoop-camera" (groothoek = wide angle),
>but without a wide-angle stereoscope (I don't know if
>any copy of it survives).

In fact it is more than twenty years ago that I have seen the
first and only one I ever have seen. But recently one has
been sold on eBay for $800 (one bid only), the picture is still
online at this moment:

The description says:
"Plates show Systeem Groothoek Stereoscoop Camera v. Albada
and W. H. Brandsma Spui 8 Amsterdam".

Manufacturers were Schaap and Co., Brandsma is the shop who
sold it (Spui is the Amsterdam address, it is also the place
where in the 1960s "happenings" were held by the Provo's who
effectively provocated the police to the point where they
arrested Provo's who distributed raisins to passing people,
an hilarious epoch - but I'm getting of topic...).

As discussed before, a wide-angle stereosystem depends more
on the availability of wide-angle stereoscopes than on
wide-angle cameras.
