Hi,
I don't think it's as bad as that. If one looks out
of one's window at a tree that's ten feet away, and
closes one eye (head still, etc), one is looking at the tree
in a 2D fashion, but does that mean the tree is 2D or is just
our perception 2D? The model in the computer is much the same
as the tree. It *is* in 3D, whether it is looked at that way
or not, just as that tree is 3D no matter how it's looked at.
I don't really want to get metaphysical (I need to hit
the bed in a few minutes if I want to be awake when I arrive
at the monster camera show in Puyallup early Saturday morning),
but I'm not sure if "reality" or "virtual reality" is only that
which meets the eye. IMO It is what it is even if there's nobody
in the forest to see it. So to speak. :-)
