Not really.  I realize that the above comment was a simplification.  But,
Kodak is in the film business.  And, a company has to make money to stay in
business.  If not enough people buy a product to warrant marketing it
profitably, they cannot afford to continue manufacturing it.  When a film is
discontinued, the only blame can be with the former customers who have
discontinued supporting it through less purchases.
When too many people switch to digital, and quit using film, Kodak will have
no choice but to quit making it.  They are already in the digital market as
a hedge against this eventuality.
