The first flash I put on a stereo camera was a Quantaray QB-350A from Ritz.
GN of 50, I believe. I took some indoor pics with near subject at about 7'
and far subjects (at end of room) around 15', and everything seemed sharp at
f4. But you have to set your focus pretty carefully to get that range, and
there's no guarantee that another camera's lenses will give the same results
(I was using the Realist 45). I felt uncomfortable about that, so I
recently obtained a used Vivitar 283, GN 120, so I could run the aperture to
f8 in that situation. But I am dismayed by the weight of the Vivitar. I
suppose it will help steady the camera through inertia... :/ ...but I
don't think I'll enjoy lugging it around.
