The Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame, 240 Main Street, Goshen,
New York , offers an ongoing 3D simulation of a ride in a horse
race. The show utilizes polarized video projection. For
information, call 1-845-294-6330.

A second stereoscopic attraction, only during the month of May, is
found a few blocks away on the other side of Main Street. At the
request of the County Historian, an exhibit showing many aspects of
the development of stereo imagery will be on display daily from 10
a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Historic 1841 Court House, until May 30, 2001.

Intended to set the context for last Saturday's symposium on
stereoscopes, the exhibit was prepared early in April by Stiles
Studio.

The symposium viewed "Stereoscopic Saratoga Springs," the Modern
Magic Lantern (Brackett Faders) 3D slide show that will again be
presented at NSA '01 in Buffalo.

Following the slide show, there was a sharing of antique stereo
cards. Most of the fourteen attendees brought selected views from
their own collections of stereo cards. Many of the cards were rare
views of the region. Keystone View Company's "Tour of the World"
cards were also placed on view. This symposium was more like a
family stereoscope viewing session than a formally structured
presentation.

As often happens, this event opened the door to future opportunities
to promote new and renewed interest in stereoviewing. A tentative
invitation was extended to conduct a stereoscope viewing session at
another local historical society.
