S3D FS: Subscriptions to "Stereogram"
With apologies to various stereo clubs with decent newsletters,
I think we have the best stereo club newsletter around! In issue
4.3 (November 1999) you can read the following:
- "RBT X4" by Mark Dottle (Mark gives his impressions from using
the most affordable RBT camera). The article gives a Table with
complete specifications of the camera, plus answers the question
"What is RBT?" with a table listing all RBT stereo cameras.
Pictures show how to take the zoom lenses out to install any
Pentax K-mount lens. Plus, a very appropriate cartoon, I am
sure will make you smile.
- As part of the continuing series "Stereo Photography Tutorial"
DrT attempts to explain "The Stereo Window", one of the most
fundamental and perplexing (for a beginner) concepts of
stereoscopic imaging.
- Jim Motley completes his "TORONTO 1999 PSA Conference" impressions
(see DrT next to a beautiful model!) Chuck Weiss talks about his
vacation in Orlando and the 3D events in Disney. Plus club and
local news.
All these profusely illustrated, at a level unseen in stereo club
newsletter level. I counted 14 pictures (one in stereo - Mark Dottle's
first place "Wheel in the Sky") and 3 schematics. Recognized by PSA,
having received two HMs in the "International Bulletin Contest" in
its two years of existence.
This 8 page newsletter, the previous 2 and the next 7 can be delivered
to your mailbox on a monthly basis for only $15. Just count... 8x10
= 80. 80 pages of interesting stereoscopic information with about
150 photographs, yours in small doses for only $15! And the money
goes to benefit an organization devoted to promoting stereoscopic
photography in Nothern Ohio.
Please send your $15 check ($20 for overseas, well-hidden cash will
do it) to:
Dennis Petti, OSPS Treasurer
6801 Brecksville Rd.
Independence OH 44131
Bound volumes of the previous two years are now on sale for $15 plus
$3.50 postage (USA or surface mail elsewhere). Better hurry because
once the 100 copies are sold, that will be it!
