Probably the more technical aspects of camera hacking
would make a good topic but camera hacking does seem to
be enthusiastically received on photo-3d so that may
be a duplication of effort & a draining of resources
from photo-3d.  I think the same could be said mutatis 
mutandis for in-depth reviews of commercial equipment.  
On the other hand, a list should be of interest to
the people on it (seems obvious) so if that's where we
want to go, that's where we'll go eventually, I'm sure.
I would like to see us give the more technical topics
a little time, though.

Part of the problem is that the digest decided to fire 
off before I was done sending my posts.  My later posts
(first posts in this digest) give some examples of the 
type of thing I think we might try out for starters.
They're just a few things off the top of my head -
nothing sacred or special about them; we can talk
about them if you like and ignore them if you don't.

I guess philosophically I think this list is a refuge
from photo-3d but it is a refuge by virtue of the
limited appeal of its technical discussion and not by
virtue of "elitism".  8-)
