If I understand this scenario correctly (which isn't necessarily that safe an
assumption), it wouldn't produce a stereo pair. By rotating the camera around
the pole, you'd just get a similar picture of the pole from two different
directions. The rotation would eliminate the displacement that triggers depth
perception, wouldn't it?

Also, as an aside, I think Ray should be barred from this list for even jokingly
suggesting that Cliff be allowed to join! ;-)
