I completely agree there are vertical disparities involved in the sense of
depth and 3D when viewing real scenes. However, these vertical changes are
essentially equal to each eye or to a stereo camera in a given moment's
observation. The result is that a stereo image must have zero vertical
disparity in order to be properly visualized if for no other reason than
relative to the image, the eyes are in vertical alignment.
