T3D An e-mail lesson

I've dinged NASA here for ignoring me when I wrote them the
rover's stereo camera was windowed wrong. Well, _I_ was wrong.
They didn't ignore me and they did act on my "suggestion" but
they were offended by my letter and I now presume that's why
I didn't hear back from them. I sent the note to a friend at
JPL and the note was strongly worded because he's a busy guy
and I wanted to catch his attention. I almost subconsciously
figured since I'd known him a long time, it wouldn't go past him
in the state I wrote it. I think he was too busy to read it
very carefully and forwarded it as it was to the optical design
folks. When I found out it had been forwarded, I was mortified
and could only hope that the guy who received it was deserving.
I met the guy at the conference and that hope vanished. The
moral is that as is often said, don't send e-mail you wouldn't
want the world to read. So to set the record straight, these
guys are anything but jerks.
