Yeah, I agree, that's what he was looking for. My approach was to be
inferred and that wasn't such a swell idea. I should have said, "..and
everything which is not in focus is out of focus." I also meant to put in
there the very valid point that it really is only a matter of degree. For
instance in my example of resolution of 1 part in 2000, everything outside
of the zone would have res not as good as 1 part in 2000. However, 1 part
in 1000 is still pretty good so you might want to change even to 1 part in
500 to get something more out of focus. There just isn't a sharp cutoff
to work with.
