I wonder if going beyond 2 or so degrees is going beyond the 
compass of acute vision and so like an itch you have to scratch, 
you have to look from one object to another - you have to change 
your vergence.  And then I wonder if somehow this is OK in real 
life but not so good on the screen because you don't have to 
refocus or because...?
