Oops!  Sorry about leaving that ambiguity.  Yes, the ropes and nodes are
all interior to the thin-wall pressure vessel's wall.  In fact, that's 
what allows this particular vessel to keep its shape in spite of its 
thinness.  I can see where exterior ropes could do the same but not in 
this case.

Could be done and should be done.

That's going to make it tougher considering the number of nodes.  It looks
like you're recommending I hire a cartographer.  8-)  Good idea.  And the
programs for that are known to exist.
