That's my thought. Even a Kodak Stereo type camera seems too big for the
kind of shot i assume I wil be making.
I'm thinking about doing this:
Take a cheap point and shoot. Use most of it's motorized film transport
mechanism. Grab one of those Wollensak lens units that are floating
around. Move the lenses in so the stereo base is right for 24-36 inches.
Make up a simple "shutter" that is merely a gate to keep light out between
shots. Synch it to the strobes, which need to produce a fixed amount of
illumination to match the fixed apertures.
If I decide to shoot closer, I may go with a motorized SLR and a single
lens with two fixed apertures and a septum.
