No, there are other things that contribute to viewability.

Not quite sure what you mean here.  You're referring to the fact that
accommodation (human eye lens focal length) and convergence are yoked, such
that mis-matches can lead to eyestrain.  This is another factor that can
hurt viewability, though I think it's typically a minor one for hand-held
viewers.  Where it really gets to be a problem is in an Imax theater, where
they've got you converging maybe 3-4 feet away at times & accommodating
near infinity.  I have yet to leave an Imax film without a splitting
headache (though some of that comes from the weight of the headset).
