After I first saw SL3D, I was able to get up and walk!  Unbelievable!!
Seriously, I thought Bill's macro SL3D was just as good as DL3D but it 
did have the added effect of making things which are too close or too 
far away out of focus and that kept away the problem of excessive depth.
It did seem very "natural" but I think you could do the same thing with 
DL3D and an equivalent choice of aperture.
