Is it small, round, and with a clean edge--a so-called pinhole?
That's what the spots caused by bubbles in the emulsion look like, and
the conventional explanation is that they're caused by gas bubbles,
usually created by the acid in a stop bath.  In this case there would
have to be another source for the gas.
