Well, let me ask again, maybe you can transfer that question to the
right people: if 35mm has to be dark loaded, why not 120/220 also,
making any paper backing superfluous? The paper backing only exists
for daylight loading....
Beyond that, I assume 70mm cassettes are in no way different than
35mm in the felt trap/fiber optics issue. So even those have to be
dark loaded.
Can anyone shed some light on this please?

The digest, as the real time mode, is completely automated.
