Aside from the hassle (and most modern cameras not going past 36
frames....8-((....) I might work. Keep in mind that the both the
IR-leaking felt and the lack of an anti-halation layer are neccessary
to get the fogging in the first place; they are not independant
fogging sources; if either problem would seize to exist, there would
be not fogging so deep inside the film. So if you could roll
sufficient length of normal film into the cassette (so that it covers
the entire roll of film inside), you might tackle the fogging.

The only problem I see: how on earth are you going to apply the tape
in the dark? Tape only wouldn't be a problem, aligning the sprockets
is horror....
I know one can use low intensity fluorescent light indoors to
prevent the fogging....but still....

My dream solution is also in the pre-loaded camera backs....for 70mm
film that is....the cartridges take 4.5m film....ie 50-60 shots
each....a few mag's should take you through the day....8-))
For 35mm a second hand Rollei 300x might come in handy....a pity they
are not made any more....
