Bio sketch for Steve Homer
- From: shomer@xxxxxxx (Steve Homer)
- Subject: Bio sketch for Steve Homer

My thanks to David and Edward for the information about
Graflok-back Graflex cameras that accept 70mm format.
Here's my introductory biographical sketch:
- Name: Steve Homer (shomer@xxxxxxx)
http://www.teleport.com/~shomer
- Profession/Study: Technical Writer
- Country: United States
- Personal history of photography
I'm a largely self-taught photographer with
no art-school background. I've taken a few
weekend photography workshops, and a couple of
evening classes in darkroom techniques.
- preferred subjects: People, mostly women, in the studio.
Many of my subjects have tattoos and
body piercings.
- materials (film, filters, paper, chemistry):
I use TMAX-100 in medium format for most of
my work. I began experimenting with infrared
films this Spring, and have tried the Kodak HIE,
Konica, and Ilford films in 35mm format, and
the Konica in 120 format. I'm hoping to use filters
to get more interesting results with the Ilford
SFX-200 film, and to begin using HIE in 70mm format.
I generally use TMAX developer for film, and Ilford
Universal paper developer with Ilford MG FB paper.
- Other strange hobbies: skateboarding
- How did you find out about this list: Willem-Jan mentioned it
in an email.
- Expand on anything photographic you like:
I'm a member of Galleri 8, a cooperative gallery in
Portland, Oregon, USA. We pride ourselves on exhibiting
"Art at Risk," and are always anxious to get slides from
artists whose work is innovative and/or focused on the
human form. We take no commissions on sales. Please email
me if you'd be interested in sending slides or in receiving
some information about our gallery.
