FWIW: spring gives the best Wood effects, better than summer and fall....
However, what you must look for in snow landscapes is contrast,
either by huge shadows of trees and hills, or by cloud patterns.
I do have a few pictures that 'vibrate' otherwise, but I can't
explain why....they just catch your eye for the subtle
unworldly-ness. You know they can't be made with other film, yet you
can't lay your finger on the crucial details. Others show a tonality
that almost frighten me....very different from summer shots....like
a third dimension. Weird, very weird.
Hope to have a few of those printed by the end of next week.
(oh, and for the high altitude skiers: keep in mind that pine trees
show almost no Wood effect. There is some, but you need a pitch black
sky behind them to show it. Sun lit snow clogged threes do a much
better job)

I always run out and do a little snow dance when that happens....8-))

Providing bright sunny wheather, my typical HIE exposure is 1/60@xx
with a Wratten #87C. Dunno why I bought a light meter
actually....never use it anymore in the snow....8-))
I just sent some more neg's off to my printer, including a bunch of
panorama's that I only had on contact sheet....gawd what a nice
pic's. Joe, keep the Sensia....8-))
