Gas-hypered Tech Pan is the undisputed kingpin of B&W deep-sky
astrophotography because of its extended red sensitivity (hence
sensitivity to the Hydrogen alpha line) and its unbelievably fine
grain.

sake, just for fun.  My guess is that gas-hypering won't help
much (I agree that baking will probably hurt it) but I'll give
it a go.  This new Ilford film sounds intruiging...
