Don't you mean clear spots in the negatives--black dots in the proofs?

I do, and my impression is that most in this group do.  There have
been suggestions that one should mix one's formulae with distilled
water.  I use filtered water and have no problem.

The 4x5 is amazing, isn't it!  All that detail, with no real grain--at
least if you're used to the 35mm variety.
