Almost sure he was talking about Kodak HIE, and you need to dial in a
high EI to compensate for the insensitivity of the onboard meter.
Note that his metering method was TTF!....;-))
I have a list from a German mag somewhere, listing recommended EI's
for several brands and generations of cameras (non-AF, hybrid, AF).
The trick is: the newer the camera, the less sensitive its meter is to IR,
hence you need to dial in a higher EI to get the same exposure with
TTF.
