Re: KODAK 4X5 IR
This comes with the caveat that I've never done IR with my 4x5, but here's
what I've got:
Ansel Adams quotes a focal correction of half a percent of the extension.
I've never tested it, and I could have that number wrong. It's in one of
the books in his set of three, but I'm pretty sure it's "The Negative".
Could be "The Camera", but not likely to be in "The Print".
Same caveat, but here's what I'd do for developing 4x5 Kodak HIE: I use
TMax RS chemistry for all of my B&W 4x5 work. My bathroom is 75 deg F,
and I use it 1:9 with water, so my developing time is about 11 minutes
for TMX film. For 35mm I use TMax RS chemistry as well. For Kodak HIE
in 35mm, the same temp and dilution works out to a time of about 8 minutes.
As a first stab, I'd use the same time/temp/dilution for 4x5 HIE.
Best of luck, and let us all know what you wind up using.
Tom
