4x5 IR, Filters...
Hello all,
I have and sometimes use 4x5 IR sheet film with a few different
cameras and have never had ambient light leaks due to the material the
bellows are made of. Of course, with any photo- sensitive material,
cracks and pin holes are going to fog or streak the the film.
Some other cautionary notes do, however, apply:
1, Try to only handle the film with gloves. I can not tell you how
many times I have pulled a developed and fixed sheet out into the
light with great anticipation; only to find a finger- print the size
of a building (at least on the negative;-)).
2, Pull the dark slide evenly and slowly. Many people have reported
tiny streaks across their negatives and I, for one, believe that this
could be caused by static electricity generated by pulling the dark
slide too fast. (this might
be alleviated by simply cleaning the film holder carefully with a
charged brush - static-master uses polonium and I love the way it
pulls dust off of things.)
That's all I have to say about that, for now....
Jan?! I would really appreciate it if you would e-mail me that filter
list. Thank you for everything.
-Adam.
