I haven't tried it, but since the 87 will essentially confine the
exposure to the extreme red and the infrared, which is reproduced as
red in by IR Ektachrome, the effect should be very similar to taking a
HIE or Konica IR shot made with a Wratten 87 and applying a red
gel--except in the highlights, where the Ektachrome will give you
pinks and white.  If you use Photoshop or something similar, the b&w
shot turned into a red duotone might come even closer to the
Ektachrome (at significantly lower cost).  The difference there should
be that the middle values will be a muddier red from the b&w original
than from the Ektachrome, which in this range should exhibit a
saturated red.

What I'm trying to say is that, in theory, you'll get an essentially
monochrome image whose total "greyscale" varies from white through red
to black.
