Those who may legally own the rights to the publication if it is still
copyright protected. It would be the same if someone took one of your
photograaphs whcih may have been produced years ago and reproduced and
distributed it. I am sure your or your legetees would not be happy that you
or they did not give permission or did not receive reasonable compensation.
I'm surprised at these responses. The copyright issue has been brought to
the forefront especially with the issues related to electronic imaging.
Photography organizations and photographers have pressed for stiffer
copyright laws and enforcement. Within the last few years there have been
numerous suits related to copright violations related to the photo industry.
Am I to believe that you want to protect yourselves, but find it
objectionable if you need to determine if you violate these rights of others
who may be protected by the same rules.
