Very true.  The reason that a lot of Natural Resource work is done with B&W 
IR is because of the film's ability to differentiate between tree species. 
 While Aspen and Hard Maple are both hardwoods, they have entirely 
different infrared signatures (Aspen being gray and Maple being white).  
Conifers will show up as a dark gray/black.
