If you are shooting at 1/15 shutter speed without a tripod then you are
probably getting blurry images due to camera shake. The general rule of
thumb for 35mm is take the focal length of your lens, ie. 50mm, and find
the nearest number on the shutter speed, ie 60. To get the sharpest
possible photograph, double the shutter speed. In this case 125. And never
shoot below 1/60 with the 50mm lens.
If you are using a 24 or 28mm wide angle you maybe able to shoot at 1/30
and get reasonably sharp images, but that is the limit for handheld shutter
speeds.
