If you use the Marshall's Pencils, they are oil-based. Just dip the tip
into a little of the Marshall's PMS (prime medium solution). Or rub a
little PMS on the photo itself. After you get done coloring, blend away the
pencil marks with a cotton swab.

I've read where some people use Kodak dry retouching dyes (Flexichrome dyes)
and Kodak liquid dyes as well.
