Lists have a way of evolving to meet the needs and interests of the list
subscribers. The desire to communicate with individuals across the world is
one of the pleasures of electronic mail. If the list occasionally gets
chatty, it's not because someone or groups are trying to change the focus
of the list.

I for one, have tried to make some subjects indirectly related to infrared
photography part of the broader discussion. If those topics don't suit any
list member, then they are free to vote with the "Delete" key. The list
does not exist to cater to the desire of any individual. Steering the list
towards a topic more suited to your interests by posing a question or
statement is far more useful than generalized carping that "this list is no
good no more."
