        I am not sure if someone had insider information or what not, but 
when I read HIE was going to be discontinued I called up the Kodak 
Product hotline ( 800 242 2424) and the technician at the image systems 
lab told me they will only be slowing production of it on the off months 
(winter) and it will return to full manufacture of the product once 
spring is back. I missed the first mail of this thread because my mail 
got deleted by accident the other day. 

if the reports are in fact true and the tech was just lying to me, then 
my apologies in advance .........
