Konica IR film

Hi, I am a first time user of IR film and have just received a 24 exp roll 
of Konica IR (35mm) film.

Could anyone tell me the do's and dont's of loading and shooting the film?

I am concerned on loading the film in subdued light, how long should a roll 
of film be lying in the
camera before processing?, lens focussing, which filter for the best effects 
(I have a #25 for my 35mm gear),
will handling the film in the darkroom before film processing require any 
special attention?, etc.

I hear that the film can be rated from 10ASA to 100ASA and still get good 
results.

Ideas would be appreciated!
